Dead Reckoning

In navigation, dead reckoning is the process of calculating current position of some moving object by using a previously determined position, or fix, and then incorporating estimations of speed, heading direction, and course over elapsed time. I've got a great spiritual example of this for you today.

Psalm 91:2 says; I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.” A refuge is defined as a shelter or protection from danger or distress, a place that provides shelter or protection, something to which one has recourse in difficulty. We have a place like that every hour of every day. Let's enter into it today.

So you've probably heard about R and R and that means "rest and relaxation." It's that time or break from work or a big project to recoop and renew. I first became aware of the term in the miliatry in the late 60's. So what it S and R? I get this from Jeremiah 31:25 - For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.” So... need a little S and R today?
